Marcy and Her Friends is the largest published collection of my children’s stories. I devote most of my time to writing for teenagers and adults, whether it be inspirational short stories and poetry (Tales of The Soil), books about relationships and communication (Conversations With Our Daughters), or healing through childhood trauma (Shadows of The Soul).

I have been invited to publish my works in The Silence Within, Letters from the Soul, The Sound of Poetry and Poetry From The Heart. My essays, short stories and poems have also been published in Reader’s Digest, Creations, Pace Literary Magazine, The Menorah, and The Gannett Suburban Newspaper.

Philosophy of Practice

Over the years it has become clear to me that the ways in which individuals react to stressors can be healing or harmful to the body and spirit. Children learn by example. We, as adults (whether we are teachers, parents, guidance counselors, baby sitters, cashiers, store owners etc.), set examples on a daily basis. Our mannerisms, comments and reactions are carefully noted. We make powerful impressions on youngsters who are within earshot or view.

It is our duty to become responsible in our reactions to environmental stressors – if not just for ourselves, for the health and well-being of future generations. We can do this by becoming aware of our perceptions and reactions. Through my workshops I help participants fine-tune these skills. Through my books I address issues of parenting, family communication and stress management.

My approach to wellness embraces a functional medicine paradigm. My practice is holistic and preventive. I combine conventional medicine with traditional disciplines including but not limited to herbal healing, vitamin supplementation, positive/guided imagery, Shiatsu, Therapeutic touch, and Reiki. I derive a great deal of satisfaction from using ‘energy healing’ techniques, and find it rewarding to customize healing methods specific to each individual patient, teaching paths of action rather than dictating linear prescriptions to follow.

Whereas conventional medicine sees ‘a patient with a type of condition’, I seek to understand the total person presenting with each particular problem. Together, my patients and I strive to understand how and why symptoms and conditions develop, and we set out to resolve the deeper issues together. Healing is a process. Wellness is a delicate interplay among the mind, body and spirit. The relationship we have with ourselves is a choice we make.
